Industrial consumers such as medium and large factories often have to pay a significant power factor penalty when the PF falls below some specified figure - usually between 0.9 and 0.7. Such penalties will appear on the bill under headings such as 'Reactive Power Charge.'

It is difficult to see what significance this could have for the domestic consumer.

I love it how the 'How it Works' section for the AMPilizer it seems to magically create 100A from 60A at the same voltage . . . Like many electrical goods found on ebay, particularly amplifiers, 500W from a 12V 2A power supply, incredible what they can get away with.

These drive me crazy, as an electrician I get asked about them way too often. In factories I have installed massive power factor correction units but as stated above that's only because industrial units have to pay for reactive and real power. In a house its just ridiculous to think there is more then a few dollars a month to be saved if they were to pay for reactive power at all. *facepalm*

This is total crap, the website looks like a child put it together.

I quote the FAQ question #8:

"8. What is the construction and principal of power saver?

The power saver is sealed in vacuum unit. Disassembling the unit may cause damage to the power saver itself. The saving principal will not be described here for reason of business secrecy how ever the product consists of a highly effective with especially designed power control chip, making it possible to enhance RF and reduce power waste more efficiently.

"
total crap, there spelling is worse than mine.
