We have microscopes at work for this sort of thing. Forget USB scopes - you really want binocular vision for depth. The ideal magnification range is 5x to 20x. Look for objectives with a long working distance - this helps avoid flux splatter messing up the lenses, and gives you room to maneuver a soldering iron etc.
We use Meiji scopes - good quality Japanese make, good range of pricing options without being stupidly expensive.
The other thing I use is a set of surgical loupes, 3x mag with a 340mm working distance. I have them mounted on a plastic goose neck so I can position them over my work without attaching them to my face.
