better cap choices would help me out, better pricing too. i rarely by from radio shack as the prices are bad, but theres no sense in going to mouser or digi-key to buy 3 resistors or a one timing cap.

too bad some of Forrest Mims instructional books are pretty outdated and even have wrong information in them. They should have gone with books from Make Magazine, such as "Make: Electronics" Nothing to complicated in there and all the parts for the projects are cheap and readily accessible

Ok sorry that might have been a little harsh, however I have heard that there are several mistakes that make it so some of the circuits will not work if you build it following his directions

Sure, Well my friend told me about some problems in the "The Circuit Scrapbook" I don't remember exactly what he said, but after a quick look under the reviews on amazon I found one comment someone posted: "One such example on page 129, the schematic of the general purpose amplifier. He has pin 1 of the 741 op amp as the output to the 386 chip. It should be pin 6 on the 741 chip (output)" I can't verify if this is actually true as I have never read the book

More of a reason to shop on ebay. Or amazon if you want to receive your part quickly
