An series-parallel arrangement of CDEs with a voltage rating slightly higher than your supply voltage and enough capacitance should work.

I heard about twice the voltage rating of the power supply ?

You can get away with less if you use CDEs.

8 KVAC is ~12KVDC, so you probably want a 20KV tank cap to play it safe.

Many decisions should be made prior to buying anything. How will will your secondary be designed? {and your top load & primary.}
What design have you settled on? Have you seen various design concepts?
Have you found a source for secondary wire? This is often more difficult that getting a good power supply.

The best advice perhaps is to map out your project on paper & make decisions on parts first. Then utilize JAVATC for your projected project agenda. If all appears well & within your means then begin.

You are being warned off of MOTs for some very good reasons. You will have a tough time getting the appropriate voltage and MOT stacks are much more of a problem then they are worth in the end due to complications. I am speaking of construction complications for a 1st time builder; I know that you're aware that if you make a mistake you may not have another chance; that you know they are truly lethal......
The point is that there are other substitutes for a MOT that are actually worth getting rather than attempting to make a stack function well.

Do an in-depth SEARCH of the threads on the Forum and you will have a great deal of information as to why MOTs are a problem and ways to utilize substitutes. That information is too valuable to pass up.

I knew someone in Greece and Dresden (near Czech Republic) who wrote me on occasion and found some great sources for HV items. So really, no matter where you are, so CAN find what you need. Many good quality parts can be found in central Europe!

Yes i have found a source for the secondary wire .

I found a good TC calculator here
Link2 (german)

I'll try it with MOTs ... have a source where I could get many MOTs each day. So it's the simplest way to get a suitable Supply . If it fails I have no possibility to buy a NST
But I have a running 6x stack and after some hours of arcing one mot got burned .

Maybe you could ask them where they get theyr powersupplies?
