Hi guys,
It's been a long time since I have posted anything in this forum... I have decided to stop building Tesla coils as the interest in it has been low in long time. I have a ton of equipment that I don't need anymore, I will make a list and post it in the sale and trade section within a week.
It has been a hard choice to make, building Tesla coils gave me a awesome job at Aalborg university, made me a better toolmaker, a lot of fun and a good friend... But as I get closer to 30 years I want more out of my life:-)
I hope that I have left the community with some inspiration for the next generation of coilers:-) I will however still give lectures at the university about Tesla Coils in the future...

It would not work. I tryed to leave the coils behind, 3 years ago (and become a coin collector instead). It did not work, I built at least 2 coils/year for friends. Making biggg coils like you seems easy to give up, but I am sure that we will see some small SSTCs from you from time to time. The "coiling disease" can't be ever cured.

It will be sad to see you go! You have done some very inspiring work and grabbed quite a few imaginations! Whatever you decide, thanks for what you have done already. Whats best for you is really whats important. All my best in your new endeavors! Good luck and godspeed, you will be missed!

Hehe, thanks guys:-)
I will miss the hobby a bit, but I will travel a lot around the world for the next few years, kite surf and enjoy the rest of my youth:-) I will always be a geek, and I'm in a hack space at the moment making crazy projects with some guys from the local area:-)
I will however still try attend WWT next year, as I would like to meet Chris, Henry and all the other guys from this forum that will attend. This hobby gave me my dream job, and one great friend indeed! But time has changed...
I will still poke around in the background here from time to time, and maybe post a cool project when I have one:-) but it will not have anything to do with high voltage...

I have stopped tinkering with electronics a while ago. Since then, I have picked up interest in downhill skateboarding(longboarding) and I have grown to love it. As long that you do what you love, it's all good. I am keeping my electrnic parts because I probably would get back in to it when Im older. Also, it would be much harder to tinker with electronis of the future because everything is becoming smaller compact.
