It's called destination imagination. It's more creative problem solving, but they have a technical section that was all about robots (technically RC)
Ah yes, I taught 5th and 6th graders about electricity and stuff for that, I was paid to

Does obsessive collecting of broken stuff count?
Yes I do try and fix some of it, but at the moment my workspace resembles a junkyard.

I personally have been more comfortable sitting at home doing stuff alone, and not with people. But at the same time, HV made me want to present projects. and this year, school and all, I was a LOT more open. People in class like the teacher always said I was quiet..never talked..and this year I talked a lot and some semi-friends joked around with that saying that I went from quiet to constant talk. I enjoyed presenting many things to the class this year.
Also made a step that i havn't done for over 4 years. Making a new friend.
So i guess ya, HV was a start of boredom, something to do to keep me busy and happy on days I was in a bad mood. Yet, it has also made me more open, due to the want to share my projects...show off..get feedback..and I now have a friend who actually wants to do some of the things i do with HV.

I think that it would be fair to say - all 4HVers have a 'personality disorder' of some kind since they're human - readers of this thread probably have diagnosable 'personality disorder's - posters even more so !
The worst is fear of worrying about personality disorders.
As PM pointed out, there is a difference between 'having occasional symptoms' and having a disorder.
Several people have posted along the lines that, when in stressfull situations (exams, etc) they 'suffer anxiety'. That is 'normal'.
In order to be diagnosed with any of the above mentioned 'disorders', you have to feel it all the time, not just when 'external factors' lead to it.
Having said that, I've always found it easier to 'relate' to machines than to people
