Would it be okay to use a lipo battery to run a zvs driver? I know that lipo batteries are very dangerous things to mess with, so yeah. I wanna ask before actually buying one and a charger just to have it fail miserably...
Hmm...that was going to be my first choice, but there's just no room in my design for a battery that big. I also want at least 16 volts, so I was going to use an 18.5v li-po battery. I know there's protection circuitry I can build for them, but I don't know what that circuitry is. Anybody have any ideas?...

Basically you put a mosfet in series with the load, and then use a schmitt trigger to monitor the battery and turn the mosfet off when the voltage drops too low.
