Okay thanks for the info. The problem is my whole system was based off helical primary. To do a flat, I would have to hang it over the edge a little bit. Totally doable, but I'll take it under consideration. I'm at work at the moment but I'll update my post and let you know the actual frequency of my primary.

Well, I got home and did the math. Turns out, my primary when powered at 5VAC, enough to show a CT waveform as pictured above. I calculated the frequency to be 72.72Khz roughly. So yes, Larger primary...Needed.

72kHz seems about right.
As Eric said earlier, your primary coil and capacitor bank resonate at 102kHz.

So, you are seeing 72kHz because there is quite a bit of inductance in your leads that go to your primary coil. (they have a lot of area enclosed)

Yeah right now I'm still working on getting more copper tube so I can make the larger primary to lower the frequency. I planned 8 turns just because after calculating all over again,i found I actually needed to have like 6 turns...so better safe than sorry is how I see it.

Well update when I have the copper tube.

Well, I got a new primary and i have scoped it to do a lowest frequency of 35Khz, Way plenty. Now, here are some waveforms.

Here is just showing the system at like 10V, on turn 4. Also known as the one thatsway out of tune.
1307643587 1643 FT116528 Scope2

Now below, I had the system doing the SAME exact duty cycle, on turn number 7. This is the turn that has the loudest spark noise of all the rest, but I get small tiny sparks, no breakout. I'm sure if i cranked the dial past 60V, I would randomly get a instant breakout.

Now, I also added quiet a lot of aluminum tape..I mean, a lot. So my topload is nearly a solid form just as a temp. fix to that thought someone had. But I'm still having issues where i get tiny sparks, that as i crank remain tiny (but get rather loud), and im sure like the past, ill get a random instant burst of sparks.

But, Is the duty cycle here too high/low? the amount of RF cycles? When people say to do 10 cycles, is that the WHOLE waveform, or beginning to highest peak? Because obviously the more cycles i have, the louder and louder my sparks become.

I may try a different interupter later. Because whats weird, even though it says its running like 15 cycles, the sparks that are coming out of the coil, are rather, very very thin still. Maybe this is how a DRSSTC is suppose to be, but below I have posted a video showing a random tapped coil, the waveform, and output. Camera fails to capture output as its rather...Very thin sparks. So to make it easier to see, I put a rod near it to arc to.

The scope was set to a smaller time/div, "zoomed in". If i "zoom out" I get what you see in the first post, the common cone shape.

How many drive cycles you run is manly determined by your tank circuit impedance (Z surge).

The higher your Z is the more drive cycles you will need but with a lower peak current.

The lower your Z is the less drives cycles you will need but at a higher peak current.

I don't know your tank Z but just my gut is telling me that you are running way to many cycles. You have some other problem that is preventing you from making long sparks. Your PW should be in the 50uS to 200uS range.

Your problems are most likely one of these two:

Your bus voltage is to low.
Your tuning is off.
