I must get one for my armadillo.

A microbiologist I once knew kept her lab full of armadillos... she was an expert in leprosy (which is very slow growing) and armadillos are one of the few creatures that can incubate human leprosy asymptomatically Link2 . I felt very sorry for them frown

Not many people know that...

Edit: They (armadillos, not microbiologists) can also act as a host for Chagas disease, which is one of the most unpleasant things you can catch in Central & South America (yes, I know there are other things which are also very nasty) - whenever you give blood in the UK, its one of the standard tests carried out....

It`s such a shame that she`ll probably never find out what`s really wrong with her and have to live with it forever. Considering her condition has a media profile why hasn`t a sensible person set her straight instead of e.g. writing a sensationalist news article and ripping her off with expensive junk.

Her illness probably is a side effect/consequence of the chemotharapy which, along with the bowel cancer, has probably left her weaker than she was before.

It could even be that she is so run down that even something like persistent 50 Hz mains hum makes her feel worse.

The rest is probably imagined. If she no longer feels her 'former self' when in company, as everyone now has a mobile phone, where it was less common before her cancer, it almost seems a logical conclusion to make (or associate).

Persistent 50 Hz mains hum can, at times, be annoying I've had 'dodgy' fridge/freezers in the past, presumably faulty capacitors as I'd get voltage spikes in the mains when they turned on and off, it used to affect all the other electronics in the house. And I've worked in power stations, where the hum seems worse in damp weather.

I used to be convinced that it made my migraines worse, (it probably didn't do them any good) but fortunately I no longer suffer from them. Mine would appear to have been stress related, and I dealt with the underlying cause.

I'ts possible that she just has a dodgy capacitor on her washing machine , as it it this that seems to cause her problems, and that rather than getting it fixed, or replacing it, she has had it moved to an outhouse.

If I was her, knowing what I know now, I'd have all the appliances in the house checked. This might alleviate the problem to some extent. Certainly a better investment than £500 for the transformer thingy.

"It is difficult to understand how you could possibly know such a thing, and come by such information. "
Do you agree with my assessments that
(1) a lot of people get cancer and recover
and
(2) This "phenomenon" is unusual (based on the fact that commonplace things don't generally get into newspapers and, where they do get into the papers, they don't get posted here.)
From those I feel it is reasonable to conclude that most people who survive cancer don't develop symptoms that get them into the newspapers

Incidentally re. "A vast majority of advanced cancer patients receiving palliative care considered themselves spiritual and religious."
What did the control group look like?
From my point of view a group of whom it is found that "88% were Christians." seems odd.
The census data for the UK indicated about 70% Christian (and 0.8 % Jedi)
There's also all the difference in the world between a relation between surviving illness and faith in religion and a relation between surviving illness and adopting what is a very odd belief.
Most people do not consider Christianity to be delusional but I suspect plenty would consider this "electrosensitivity" to be delusional- particularly since that's what the evidence (about electrosensitivity) seems to indicate.

LG are the current world leaders in flat screen back-lit LED technology. The company I was working for last year had shipped the machines that produce these to LG, but were having to put the systems for their competition into storage because the facilities that they were due to be installed into hadn't been built yet. (ie there was nowhere to ship them to).

I wasn't aware that 3D glasses with batteries generate 'harmful electron waves' though.

they didn't say other ones did, just that it didn't. People might catch on if you said "generates no death rays!".
