Might be the ozone, or the uv light reaching your eyes.
Or the frequency it's being driven at.

Ah, but the same thing happens with cutting torches and standard welders.

On another note, I had a really silly idea.

Could someone buy me the stuff I need via ebay, send it to my address, then I can ship the stuff YOU need to you, therefore, you'd more than likely save a LOT on shipping.

Just an idea. :)

Generally toss stuff on craigslist or ebay, but often it is the recycling center if it does not require special disposal.

I think Ikea would be unhappy too, it probably voids the warranty. :)

She can't be that unhappy if she hasn't left yet.

Its an old sturdy 1960's kitchen, it can take quite an abuse :) We are not yet living together, but she mentioned when we do, there is no electronics in the kitchen!

I don't think cabinets are meant to hold that much metal...
Someday you're going to open that cabinet and find a nice hole in the bottom of it ;)

That just means more space for junk... hehehe

I would, but my dad would never go for it... he doesn't trust the internets.

I like the idea.
Especially because I am not good at the art of junk. i have boxes of stuff. <denial>all useful though...</denial>
But it's "good" to have a father who forces you to throw out the garbage.
Like, if he can't successfully navigate the floor, he tells me this:
"I'm going to go in there and start throwing away junk. you can help me decide, if you like."
You can ask them for ah, peace of mind?
"i'm not a felon.
I won't use your address,
go to your house,
and murder you in your sleep.
Nothing bad will happen if you trade with me."

Exactly. ;D
But, in all seriousness.

Is this a good idea, or not? I know catalogues of items in your basement isn't a great way to spend time, obviously.

but, try and make a small LIST of stuff that seems important or wanted to a decent amount on this forum. Flybacks, capacitors, wire, igbt bricks and mosfet bricks, etc etc, a quick look to the Sale and Trade topics shows quite a bit of what people need. Also, how much of a distance you'd be willing to ship, how much to ship, where you are on this planet, and all that jazz. I'd love to get this project off the ground, because it seems considerably better than just a sale and trade forum, with the simplicity and appreciation of the junk box. More stuff to look at, to trade, to buy, whatever.

Flat rate boxes are heavenly. :P
