Hello!

I know for a fact that Mary and all the rest of the gang has them. But, what about the rest of 4hv? I own 4, a precision 912, the work horse, a tung-sol portable, a RS 105, and a hickok 476 (or is it 467)

Bit of a Hickok fan here - I've a 539C which I've converted to 230VAC and restored, and a 6000A in the process of restoration. A few other cruder emission testers too... e.g. "Accurate Instruments" Model 157.

PM likes AVOs - very steampunk, IMHO.

Best tube tester is the circuit you're going to use them in! smile

I don't have one, I think they're overpriced. If I find some old tubes and want to test them, I stick them in one of my tube amps and crank it up.

I'm with Steve, for the number of tube projects I do I might as well do the testing in circuit.

Whatever - I just like shiny things, that and I seem to have rather more tubes than I could use in several lifetimes wink

Not overpriced if you buy one in a derelict state then rebuild it...

To quote from one of the DIYaudio guys, "turn it up till it explodes, then back off a little..."
