Well, to make it somewhat "plug and play" you'd have to spend a little extra time and money designing that feature into it. However, the concept of both circuits are the same - driving a resonant circuit with high power, high frequency. The high frequency tesla-coil kind of H-bridge is a way to convert wall voltage into just that.

Induction heaters have their own quirks which will set it apart from a tesla coil and require you to do quite a bit of fiddling to be able to transition. What I meant was not really "plug n play" but more along the lines of having completed an expensive well cooled reliable H-bridge circuit by itself, which can be driven in different ways to do some particular function. As most of us know the physical bridge (MOSFETS, IGBTs, heatsink, reservoir caps, bypass caps, GDT's, etc.) is usually the most expensive part of these projects. The driving circuitry is relatively cheap, and building different driver boards for different applications won't hurt your budget much.

What about something where it has a primary for a tesla coil, remove the secondary and place metal in and it becomes an induction heater?
