These guys have everything, ferrites included. They can be tricky with keywords occasionally though.

Well to see if my efforts are wasted or not I preformed a test with the 13 layers I have now.

It only gave me 1kV, lol. However the current was definitely quite high as it started burning an alligator clip in a couple seconds. I'm going to continue winding until I can't stand it anymore...

ok, what's the see through brownish one?

EDIT: Kapton is polyamide tape, 3M#56 is polyester tape.
