I think it's wonderful - an enchanted kingdom in the cellar.

I heard there is a forum for hammock enthusiasts that has 10 times the membership of 4HV. And, I can't help thinking the aquarium would be a more enjoyable long-term investment than a giant Tesla coil. :)

If that guy wants to get into the aquarium business, maybe there is a vacancy for the guy who throws herrings into the seal pond at Deep Sea World.

ROFL!!!!!

"Man outdoes largest fish tank guy by building the world's largest fusor, 8 feet diameter with 300KV acceleration voltage"

That would be impressive methinks.

I would expect that to cool the inner grid would need flowing dielectric oil or something similar, unless they go with a WB6-like setup and rely on magnetic fields to steer the ion beams rather than a lossy grid.
Technically still a fusor but a different design.

I would really like to see someone try and buiild a home LDX though, that would be a wonder to behold.

An 8 foot fusor is all very well, but can you pretend you are snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef while cleaning the tank?

Well maybe, but it would take a lot more imagination than if it were an aquarium.

Congratulations, antique radios (I'm guessing that's what ARF is) are 30% more popular than hammocks.

My experimental results bear this out as I have 1 antique radios and 0 hammocks.

I wonder what the membership is on the laser pointer and Candlepower forums, I bet it's even more.

Candlepower forums is quite interesting in almost anytime youre searching for stuff vaguely related, they usually come up on the first page of a google search. I'm surprised they dont have a wiki going to index some of the information.
