More than anything exploding, I wonder how he counteracts the torque twisting the bike due to the turbine/compressor?

8.4 seconds... Slower than a wheel driven bike, I suspect due to the slow acceleration at the start.
True for all jet v wheel driven cars/bikes.

Erics rocket bike put in 5.2 seconds last year. I can imagine a H2O2 leak between his legs would spoil his day too.

As I'm often reminded... "All motorsports are dangerous!" Really? :o)

Cheers...

cold, wet and not to many ladies would take their cloths off in the woods.

I dont mind the wet and cold part, it's kinda refreshing. But you are right about the ladies, they dont look quite as tempting when they're stuffed in three layers of thick wool. Touché, good sir.

Oh, that jet ski looks fun. What engine is that? Somewhere around 600cc, am i right?

Fun fact/rant: Jet skis have been strictly prohibited in Norway for as long as i can remember, and for reasons i cant understand at all. I think the EU has fixed that bit now, which is even stranger since Norway is not a member of the EU.

The use of any motorized vehicle in the nature is very strictly regulated. Understandable when dealing with big cars and trucks which makes a mess, but less so when we're talking about snowmobiles, and even outboard engines are affected when used in fresh water lakes. To elaborate just how ridiculous this law is; A helicopter can fly were ever it may wish above the norwegian nature, but it cannot land in the wilderness because then it's suddently being regarded as a motorized vehicle. This even applies to seaplanes!

While it is largely prohibited to drive a snowmobile off road, it's equally illegal to drive it on the road. Which means im a bloody criminal.

Perhaps that's what makes it so exiting shades

This thread inspired me to have another look ok E-bay, and I (finally) found a set of crankcases to to start building a replacement for an engine that mysteriously went 'missing' three years ago.

I've not one the auction yet, but I'll post more info later.

(The cases I'm after are pretty rare.)

In this article Link2 I hope they dont mean 80 bhp as in boiler horse power?! Who in there right mind would measure power that way? Are they boiling water? (Ill assume they mean brake horsepower as that would mean they are not considering shaft/turbulence losses).
