Did you actually read the entire page? Some of the stuff on lateralscience is fictional, like The Glitch Chronicles, and some of it is not, like this.
The above may be tongue in cheek but, let the reader be assured, the following text is an authentic account of events, in the words of Edison himself. It is taken from the book Edison, His life and Inventions by Dyer & Martin, 1929
I'm not saying all the information in that book is 100% correct, but it's propably quite accurate, given the fact that the book was published with Edison's consent.
