I happen to deeply agree with the points Carbon_ Rod made; to the degree that I have little to add - but that I had READ NAFTA when it was proposed and knew this shit was going to start. Virtually NO one I knew read it or a portion or a synopses of it (or GATT). And BOTH political parties pushed it....so it goes. If you don't know what you are REALLY voting for you might as well not vote.
"TRUST" a politician becasue he or she is from "your" party? Foolish....indeed!

Just my opinion but buying Gold at this point is foolish. Gold sold for $320 and ounce not too many years back. To buy it at 4 figures is not the best investment.
