ArcAttack will be at the Maker Faire UK on March 12-13.

The Maker Faire will be at the Newcastle ScienceFest.

Link2 Faire UK

We hope to see some 4hvers out there.

Due to weight we will not be able to bring our Faraday cage* for public participation, but if anyone has one or wants to build one we would be happy to use it.

*must meet safety standards of course smile

PM me with specs. I MAY be able to help out depending on what's required? BTW were you at Bestival this year?

Cheers.
Martin.

Our cage is made with 1 inch square steel tube and is 2.5ftx2ftx6.5ft covered in 1/2 inch steel mesh. Obvously thats over built for transporation, but something generaly the same size built with a 1 time use in mind should be sufficient. When I get back to the warehouse i'll take some detailed pictures and post them in this thread.

This will be ArcAttacks first appearance in the UK, but we have been to the Netherlands several times before.

Looking like this might actually happen (let me know if you've got a cage from elsewhere though) cost of getting up there is a bit of an issue but I'm going to see if anyone wants a lift up there for a contribution towards fuel. I'm assuming the cage would need to be there on the Friday ?

Martin.

Hey sorry I forgot to post the pictures. I haven't had anyone else interested in bringing a cage, but if I hear anything ill be sure to post about in this thread. I'm not to sure when we will be setting up but we wont need the cage until the 12th (or whatever is best for you) we can use a improvised ground point to test everything before hand. Remember its not a requirement that we have a cage so if it turns in to an ordeal and is going to cost to much to make/transport don't sweat it.

It's no big deal, cost of the cage to me is virtually zero as I'm using mainly re-claimed steel and a Faraday cage is always useful to have around smile. I fancied the trip up there anyway so it won't be a special journey just if I can find someone to split the fuel with it will be less of a shock to the bank account smile

If Im that free that weekend I was considering to go to the Maker Faire, but Im considering the cost of fuel too. Martin, I would probably take you up on your offer to car share but I think Im too far out of the way to make it worthwhile.

If Its a nice weekend I may ride up on the bike, an oppertunity to get out. Its long way from me too.

Roughly where are you based? If it is too far could meet you at a train/coach station. Other issue is that I would probably be going up on the Friday and coming back either late Sunday or Monday morning.
