Not related to teleportation, but there are a bunch of groups working on scanning "the entire brain" on the molecular level. Unfortunately the fancy Star Trek way with lasers does not work since light cannot possibly resolve structures on the nanometer scale, so it's boring old electron microscopy for now. Of course this requires cutting the brain into slices on the nanometer scale and staining them with heavy metals, a rather elegant solution to the problem of duplicate copies. The dataset generated in this way are on the Peta-Byte scale but still there is no telling if this captures any of the relevant function. It's a hard computer vision problem to reconstruct all the cells from these data sets, and trying to run simulations off of the reconstructions is still in the distant future.
I don't see why it would not be possible in principle though. There has been much speculation about quantum effects in the brain (infamously by Roger Penrose, who gives awesome presentations by the way) and synaptic transmission gets dangerously close. The neurotransmitters are so dilute and the volumes we are talking about so small that it's often just a single molecule or two that is sufficient to trigger a change in a synapse. Since this all happens at room temperature in the open intercellular medium and not inside specially shielded compartments, I see little chance for stable entanglement though. I think the same applies to Bjørns argument about digital representations of real numbers. The system has evolved to be so resilient against thermal fluctuations, knocks on the head and worse, that "close enough" ought to do.
Speculating about simulated humans I have to drop a link to my all time favorite piece of fiction, that deals with the question what happens if you make "copies" of humans.
