Radiotech, you seem to know about the heathkit O-8. Would it be worthwhile to restore it? I doesn't really work.... Or should I just use the CRT for a clock as planed? Others feel free to voice their opinions too. It seems that a lot of 4hv members feel they have a obligation to keep old technology up and running (this thread being evidence). And I sorta do too. I just don't have much purpose for such a old oscilloscope...

That line on the screen shows the critical parts necessary to restore it are intact. For anything other than increasing its value to a Heathkit collector, restoration is your decision. Seek opinion at the test equipment forum here.

Oh the Heathkit reminded me of an old build it yourself oscilloscope I have by Precision (circa 1951).This thing is enormous at 16 1/2" x20" and weighs a ton. Shes got some crusty old electrolytics in her and I really havent been able to justify a resto for any reason other than sentimental.One of these winters maybe.
