As promised, a picture of an open core AC flyback I found in a plasma globe, it is slightly bigger than I imaged but it is still smaller than the 5" TV's flybacks.
@Kolas, all flybacks that powers plasma globs will output AC.

I stripped a large TV earlier, the circuit has many MOSFET's and transistors, and many other cap and resistors, but what is best of all is that the flyback was massive.

I had one like Kolas's, but it was open core. It was also about half the size of Grenadier's. I need to take a pic of this monitor sized flyback, which looks really weird. It came out of a TV, and it has a partially enclosed core and it is a very weird shape.
