I got another cute little FBT today, even smaller then the last. I don't think they make them (this style) any smaller.
Next to the cute one.

I have/had some like this, they where in an air purifier. Ran with a KA555 driving an IRF740's gate. Not sure how i remember that so specifically 3-4 years later, especially since i did not even know what a datasheet was back then...

You can find really small flybacks in plasma globes and copy machines.

Cheers

They usually have encased cores to make then extreamly small, however I have seen in one plasma globe has an open core flyback, and it is about half the size what grenadier has.

I also have an old 5'' TV, I am just not too sure wether I should taking apart or keep it incase of emergency (as it is battery powered)

"and it is about half the size what grenadier has."

Do you remember what one?

:I also have an old 5'' TV, I am just not too sure wether I should taking apart or keep it incase of emergency (as it is battery powered)"

I wouldn't worry about that for two long, the uk is likely to drop analog tv soon.

I was comparing the plasma globe flyback size to your smallest flyback that you found in your 5'' TV. Ill take a picture of it when I get back home (Im at college atm) in about 2 weeks.

All the digiboxes I have run off of a 12V adaptor. I don't see why they shouldn't run off of a battery.

Here is the smallest flyback i've ever found.
It came from a plasma globe, and i suspect it outputs AC
