Poly fim or metal film? Because I have a ton of poly film @ 1.6Kv/.1uF however I brought this up in a prior thread and I was told they couldn't not handle the current load.

Careful ...... "poly film" has no specific meaning when talking about capacitor dielectrics.
Polypropylene, polyester, polycarbonate, and polystyrene are all used as capacitor dielectric materials, but have very different physical and electrical characteristics.
"Poly film" refers to the dielectric film; "metallized film" refers to the conductive plates, which are usually the same material as the dielectric film but with an incredibly thin coating of evaporated aluminum.
For high-frequency use in Tesla coils, you want to use caps with low-loss polypropylene dielectric, which yields low internal heating. For the high-current capability required by spark-gap and medium-large VTTCs, you want caps that utilize metal foil plates, rather than metallized film plates. Note that the CDE 942 series caps utilize a "hybrid" design with metal foil plates for high-current capability at the ends of the cap roll where the leads attach, as well as a "floating" metallized-film plate that provides the "self-healing" function in case of dielectric puncture caused by overvoltage.

I bought some Mica caps off my ebay so as soon as they come in I'll do some swapping and report if there is any gains. Here is a Vid showing some changes I've made and I'm producing about 8" streamers. It still looks pretty ghetto but I don't want to put any real money into it till It's semi perfect. I guess once I get this dialed in I'll fork up the money to get one of EVR's staccato controllers and swap in some 572b's to spice it up. Here's the link -->
