The wire, and the ferrite core. I suppose the mosfets would be expensive too. Over all an expensive endeavor I suppose.

i think its the time aswell... hmm what if we got as many people in 4hv to make 1 small tiny tesla coil each and they all send it to one place, then there all assembled and put together to create one huge organ of tesla coils :D
that could be awsome might even get some third-party coverage?

I was just thinking of using high voltage transformers. Jeez, a whole bunch of small modulated SSTC's would be a massive undertaking.

But HV transformers would be a big job too. Every one would require a few thousand windings of 38AWG wire.

true...
i see no possible way of doing this with a small budget without spending years working on it... although just thought mabye we could use disposable camera transformers?

well thats my last post for the night,

There are several performance groups in the UK doing stuff with Tesla coils, Arcadia is one, I can't think of the names of others at the moment but I was talking to a guy at Bestival about another group. It's also the reason I'm after a conductive suit, not for what he's doing in the video but something a whole lot different (and secret for now smile.

Martin.

I'm in the UK, and I'm the "Tesla Guitar" guy on Youtube. tongue I also worked with Finn on his Bach-playing coil orchestra.

Not England, though.

I recently got a job doing high voltage research for the power industry, and my Tesla coiling activity is now sponsored by my employers. They got me to make smaller coils that are safer to use at public demos without fencing, expensive insurance and so on. Not really in the Arc Attack spirit of things smile
