Arkin, Thu Feb 18 2010, 12:32AMWhere is the partition data of a hard drive stored? If i were to copy the contents of an entire disk into another directory, format the HD to 1 partition, and copy it back, would the partitions be the same?

The partition table is stored outside the file system so copying files around will not affect the partitions.
