Research forum?

Just a thought, has anyone considered adding a "research" forum?
includes new ideas, designs, etc as well as recent news articles considered too esoteric for "General Chatting".
might reduce the clutter a bit..

Proper research would fit well on the general science forum. The rest might fit in a single long tread in general chatting.
