ZVS driver with IRF540s
climatex, Thu Nov 12 2009, 06:55PMInput voltage 38V, the fast diodes are 150ns 1A 400Vpeak (FR154). The MOSFETs are IRF540, they're way cheaper than IRFP250s and they still work great, altough they heat up a bit. The resonant capacitor is polyester type (MKT), not very good as it heats up quite good. But it works.. 550n.
The flyback transformer is the diode-split one, arcs start at ~2cm (20kV) and can be stretched up to 12cm. And everything has been made into a nifty cage

Here's a Jacob ladder, and with some photos right here: . I've managed to film it, until the driver stopped working - something started to smoke, so I took a peek inside. I've cooked the DST - there was some gray goo coming out of the transformer (presumably, the secondary). I hope I didn't blow the 540's though
