BEWARE EBAY USER HERUURSCIENCES! (aka HESC_PHOTONICS)

Seeing as one member blew off some steam on frustrating customer service, I thought I would also. I also am asking for advice on what to do here.
I bought some items from Heruursciences on ebay. I paid the same day, $110.00.
Some time goes by and I ask where my things are. He gives me some tracking number that says the item was missent or something. A few days later it claims it was delivered. Well, It wasnt delivered to me!
Anyways, I figured it was "lost or stolen" after the lady from USPS on the phone advised me it was eligble for insurance claim. I contacted the seller for the insurance. This is when things went BAD!
Chris Leubner (Heruursciences) told me that if I wanted ANYTHING from him, I had to go to the police station and claim someone stole my package! He then said he would get his taxes adjsuted and money for this since it was STILL under him as the owner.
I told him that that was rediculous and WREAKED of FRAUD. I contacted paypal and they sided in my favor. (His delivery confirmation wasnt adequate according to their rules). I got my money back and then left things alone. Later I find he has been slandering my on his EBay "ME" page. I then left him negative feedback for his antics.
Things begin to get WORSE! He buys an item from me and immediately lets me know I am in over my head. (In other words, he lets me know hes going to retaliate). He then tells me how he could use paypal to screw me over. I asked him to cancel the transaction. Once his time was up to pay without getting a strike, he cancelled the deal.
Things get WORSE! He then files an unpaid item dispute for the two items that I PAID for! They immediately turn to strikes! I appealed with the paypal payment info and got one removed. (No idea why the other is there).
I contact ebay and let them know all that has transpired. I then get an email from him sounding very nasty!
I alerted the folks at alt.lasers about him. He THEN POSTS ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM EBAY ON THE WEB! Thats my home address, phone number, name, ect. Hes sick.
What do I do? Help?

I don't know how things stand with the law where you live, but I'd say there was more than a mere civil dispute here - a decent cop could make three or four charges out of what he's done - so it might be worth a go reporting it as a crime - fraud and blackmail, for example.
In the mean time, I'd ignore further correspondence or threats from this man, as that might only drag you in deeper.
It all sounds very nasty, and I wish there was more I could do to set your mind at rest.

I hate this man so much! Id love to go to the cops, but they are useless where I live. They hate to deal with us college kids for any reason. Im sure this asshat has got things down pat. I see that ANYTIME someone has a problem with him, he instantly lights them on fire. Ebay ALLOWS you to issue an unpaid item strike on someone (Even if they paid by paypal) just CUZ the seller says so! Two in a row and your SUSPENDED!
They also let buyers leave negative feedback, DESPITE the buyer not paying! SHEESH!
This guy has his method down pat. He has immediate actions that are calm and calculated. Knows how to screw people over and completely abuse ebay and paypal for his own liking. The only way you have a good time with him is if you get your stuff AND like it! (On his own time at that!)
It just burns me up that people like this get away with this kind of crap. He buys alot of shoddy junk and gets top dollar, and has NO ONE to answer to!

This has been so draining on me. Right before finals week too! Got my Advanced Circuit's test and then Engineering Math in a few days! I also heard the story about him getting busted. The version I heard was that he was trying to make meth, and it made such a foul smell that the other residents in his block called the police.

Don't let this small-time crook get in the way of your exams, lad! OK, you've been cheated, but it's something you'll forget soon enough, but you won't forget flunking your exams if you let yourself get distracted.
You won't get your money back, so the very best thing is to let go of it altogether till after your finals, and get your head down to some serious exam revision.
One of life's lessons, I'm afraid, Eeyore, but your life will move on to a good career, whilst the man who's cheated and abused you will only ever be a small time crook.

Sorry to hear of your negative experience with HERUURSCIENCE. I have bought a number of items from Chris over the past years. All have been exactly as advertised and at a good price. My only issue was a delay in shipment on a RF excited CO2 laser I bought recently. He can be a bit flaky but the uniqueness of his offerings have made it worth the risk.

According to the articles, he got off very very lightly for MDMA manufacture, and all of his eBay transactions were subjected to intense scrutiny by the police. I'd definitely avoid being associated with anyone like that, if for no other reason than privacy concerns. His posting of Matt's info makes it clear that he respects his buyers' privacy just about as much as the DEA.
At any rate, he's likely still on parole. I wouldn't hesitate to contact law enforcement if it becomes an issue of harassment. For now, it seems like Matt has the right idea -- dispute all the attempted retaliations with eBay, report his behavior, and then steer the hell clear of this nutcase.

this is not just a petty crime, this is serious once he starts trying to charge you again for the same items you already paid for, and even more serious is his posting all of your personal information: luckily, PayPal doesn't allow automatic transactions to take your money from your bank/credit card accounts without direct interaction...
if by the time after your exams this has not been resolved, and please as a last resort, there is the IC3 - Internet Crime Complaint Center
given that this guy has a record, and he is plastering your account (spam), defrauding your status both in public feedback AND to eBay/PayPal officials (libel/slander, and for the eBay and PayPal Fraud), if he claimed the money via PayPal and does not send your items to you (Larceny, possible Grand Larceny depending on where you live), and if I recall correctly, he has no legal right to just post all of your info online, assuming he never stated he would in the eBay listing...

I did get my money back after contacting paypal. They didnt agree with his level of delivery confirmation. Problem is is that hes actively harrassing me by opening unpaid item strikes (even though I paid, just got refunded by paypal). He left me my FIRST negative for an item HE didnt pay for!? He bought it so he could do that to me too. Uggg...
I will wait until finals are over and then file a complaint with authorities. He needs to be in jail for all his antics combined. My example shows hes got criminal intent and may take it to another level later in life with someone else. Ill let his god do its worst and let mine do His best!

As for the rest of it, this man's erratic behaviour, and involvement with a narcotics felony suggests he may have driven himself insane with his own poison.
For now, for Goodness Sake just be glad you've got your money back, and set the whole thing on one side till after your exams.
Once you have that success safely in the bag, then you can deal with this incident, if you still think it worthwhile.
I don't know US law, but I'd guess from what's been said that this man has a parole officer whose job it is to see that either he 'goes straight,' or goes back to the penitentiary. Well, Heru isn't going straight, and is already committing offences of fraud whilst on parole, so I wouldn't hesitate to bring in peace officers (or whatever you call them where you are - the cops) to put this man behind bars where he certainly belongs.
But leave it till your exams are done, Eeyore. A good exam result is a stepping stone to a worthwhile career in the industry, and a decent, happy life, so you won't end up pushing drugs and cheating folk on ebay yourself!

I agree with what's been said so far. Concentrate on the exams (and I wish you the best with them).
After the exams are over contact the police- not your local cops but the ones local to where he is. I was a student and I can understand why the police might not be as sympathetic towards students as they might be, but I suspect they might take a complaint about someone "known to them" from an out of towner seriously.

His says some HARSH and totally untrue, unproven things, while mine was removed for posting links about him. Ugg, ebay is so annoying at times!
I will think about my finals. I want to get this guy, but I fear that could bring trouble for me. Seems it aint smart to deal with someone that throws acid in the cops face! Despite my anger here, and the trouble I could bring him, I think its best to let it go. "grumble". I dont need him doing anything crazy seeing as he knows where I live!

As for ebay, once you have completed your finals, may I suggest that you properly document everything known about this man - including the news items about his crimes, and weapons - and send it to ebay's head of security, (or whatever he or she is called) rather than just someone who answers their 'phones in a call centre. This should be enough to persuade them of your case, and also have him banned from using ebay in future, so he won't be able swindle and slander others.
But don't waste a moment's more thought on it till after your finals! He's no more to you than a rabid dog.

I had a computer case stolen off my front porch (bet the bastards were surprised to find an empty shell, not a functional computer!) and I have since had to sign for any package they deliver, regardless of whether the sender requested it or not.

Exactly, usps. Paypal is a bit shady at times, but has been in enough trouble that they are running on the straight and narrow now. They have new rules for all sellers. One is that they use a service that shows that the buyer got the package (and no one else). Signing is a little annoying, but sadly is the only way to prevent this new "possible" form of deception. A few other buyers on ebay informed me that this has happend to them as well. Coincidence? Live and learn....
I do sell on ebay, and have never had a problem with a buyer ripping me off. Despite that, all my items go signature confirmation, insured. For international packages, I use global express mail with extra insurance. This shows the place, time, and the buyer's signature. This keeps everyone, including me, honest. (All of this is disclosed in my auctions).
For really important items such as some uranium ore rocks I sold for over $600, I use registered mail with insurance and signature confirmation. All this costs a bit more, but so far everyone is 100% satisfied!

Exactly, usps. Paypal is a bit shady at times, but has been in enough trouble that they are running on the straight and narrow now. They have new rules for all sellers. One is that they use a service that shows that the buyer got the package (and no one else). Signing is a little annoying, but sadly is the only way to prevent this new "possible" form of deception. A few other buyers on ebay informed me that this has happend to them as well. Coincidence? Live and learn....
I do sell on ebay, and have never had a problem with a buyer ripping me off. Despite that, all my items go signature confirmation, insured. For international packages, I use global express mail with extra insurance. This shows the place, time, and the buyer's signature. This keeps everyone, including me, honest. (All of this is disclosed in my auctions).
For really important items such as some uranium ore rocks I sold for over $600, I use registered mail with insurance and signature confirmation. All this costs a bit more, but so far everyone is 100% satisfied!

Ahaha! So Chris Leubner aka Heruursciences is back on ebay pushing his RMA stuff under a NEW name! HESC_PHOTONICS!
He tried to pick a fight with me on the photolexcon site where there was a previous thread about him long ago that was re-hashed by them members there when he was suspended on ebay. After alot of people told him off and brought up more crap about him, he changed his name on ebay!
Looks like his pride is slipping...All in all, this seems to have turned out quite well! Aced my classes and aced this guys arse for him! I was surprised to hear MORE heinous stuff about him from MANY more people!
This seems very important, as he is a major player in the amateur laser sales. Anyone who reads this thread needs to SERIOUSLY consider what you are doing before giving him your money! Is it really worth funding him? Id rather spend a little more on someone with a good reputation.
I think this thread has run its course. Chris Leubner is exposed. I got my money back, and he got a slap on the wrist from ebay. (Figures thats all they would do to him). On to more productive things!

As to this idiot, hes got a little fortress of support on the laserpointerforum. Its funny how people can back something or someone without having any proof of whats said or done? Its sad to see that people, not just chris, can snow others over and cover up their crimes.
I have been following this guy on the net, and its GREAT to see that he actually his shaken up by this all! Its also hilarious to see his outright lying that only he and I would know is a lie! Kind of like an inside joke...
Anyways, I am done with all this mess. I will pray that he gets exactly what he gives!
