HGT1N40N60A4D wanted

I think fairchild discontinued them. I have been trying to use the TO247 counterparts but I just lost another pair of them in my medium DRSSTC. I just cant build up the conenctions to the traces enough. Anyone have a few they want to sell off? PM me and we can work out a deal. I can pay via paypal.

matt has been selling them off for arround $12ish... I am pretty sure he will make another auction for you...

But why not just make some thicker traces? If things really got bad you could bolt the to-247 leads to a piece of bussbar...

I will buy them if he has some. As far the bolting directly to a buss bar, I tried something similar but I still had bad issues of localized heating of the little leads. The TO247s just have a lower thermal conduction rate, and even with all of my fans I cant stop them from failing.

Fairchild still sells them. I purchase mine directly from a distributor for use with our commercial projects. Check the fairchild website for a list of distributors in your area and give them a call. They aren't cheap though . . .

I tried that but is keeps saying the page doesnt exist, and most distributors that I know of dont have stock anymore. Thats why I figured they where discontinued. I know I can get them from Arrow (my company has an account with them) for 30.00 each. Time to find another suitable IGBT in the sot-227 package. IXYS has some nice hyerfast IGBTs in the SOT-227 package. And at 17.00 per its a steal ill

I don't believe the IXYS IGBTs have the internal hyperfast diode though . . .

This one does. Still, not cheap but I can find these. I am waiting for the IXYS rep to call me back. Why are the sot-227 so hard to find now? (it cant all be from Tesla maina :). Are manufacturers switching to a different case style?

The only advantage of the SOT-227 over a different package, such as a TO-247 is the thermal impedance. Provided you can provide adequate cooling and thermal transfer, there will be no difference in performance between the TO-247 and SOT-227 packages.

If you run your DRSSTC at low duty cycles, the TO-247 package is fine.
