IC Master

Hazmatt mentioned IC Master in another thread.

Anyone else use it? Is it worth it?

I mean, if I busted open an old stereo and keyed all the IC part numbers I found into this site, what kind of hit rate might I get?

I don't know about icmaster, but between alldatasheet and datasheetarchive I am usually covered..

I just wish my copy of partminer (from back in the days when it was free) still worked cry

I am signed up for IC Master, I haven't used it in ages. I usually put the part# in the google bar, and amost always get results. Alldatasheet and datasheetarchive are the best I can remember at the moment. Like he said.

Then you're a lot luckier than me.

I'll have a look at those other sites.

Thanks.

IC Master usually comes through for me.

I would say that 99% of all ICs does not turn up in google but most of the current and most used ones does. A few good old reference books is hard to beat.

IC master login and password can be obtained from Link2

Link2

But a search for MAX038, MAX 038, MAX-038 yields nothing. All seems a bit useless (compared to 2 mins of googling) to me.

I tried it on a few chips I had on my desk and it found all of them but the search enigne requires you to enter the part number exactly as they have it in the database. That means that writing it as it is written on the chip may not be good enough.

The good thing was that all the links returned were correct and not 1000 pages of spam like google returns on some part numbers.
