NPN transistor SSTC circuit

Hi guys,
I have at least 15 HV NPN transistors of different sizes from old monitors at home without any practical use. Recently I run into this circuit involving a use of HV NPN transistor for SSTC. I’d like to know your opinion; the guy on the web page (sorry it is in Czech) built this system which worked fine till 40V than he experienced transistor death(B-E breakdown, B-C cutoff). Dou you think this scheme could be remade for higher voltages involving TVS?
I’d like to disscus this…

Thanks...

BTW: Z in the scheme means turns...

This circuit has no meaning nowadays. The output is poor and efficiency too (horizontal output transistor are useless for anything >50khz). If you use MOSFET bridge (with the fets you get for the same price as the HOT), you can multiply the output spark size several times.
