CT or Antenna feed back?

With Ideas of sprucing up, and fixing my larger SSTC a few thoughts crossed My mind for improvement, such as using a CT rather than an antenna. The thought of using a CT seems better since I wouldn't have to worry about an arc discharging off the new topload and striking the antenna, thus destroying the very simple driver circuitry, problem is though I'm not sure if a CT would work to pick up a signal on the ground line and be able to feed it into the driver, also I'm a bit worried that there would still be a chance for an arc to occur from the ground line to the CT and still result in frying the driver circuit, this thought comes from the basis of Skoris CT feed back.

Would using a CT inplace of an antenna for the Link2 work, with little or no circuit modification? Would I need to worry about the ground line arcing to the CT?

A CT should work fine, but can be a bit hard to get working properly (as I found out with my SSTC) Just hook the ct up where the antenna was. Ground the other end and put the signal trough a 10k (or so) resistor and a 10nF cap. If it doens't work reverse the wires.

As for the ground wire arcing to the CT, put some small diameter tubing over the wire and it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, when you use secondary base current feedback you must make absolutely sure that the ground wire can't become disconnected! If the ground isn't connected the inverter will be left running on the start-up osc, destroying the bridge.

Awsome Thanks for the input, I had a feeling it would work but just wanted to verify, cuz having to deal with a potential grounding rod is a pain.

Orderer the replacement parts, and and the parts to try Skoris coil, except I forgot to get the CT or core for that fact, soI was wondering...Should I treat the CTs as a GDT and not use the yellow psu core or can I?

I used the same type of ferrite for the CT and GDT. The yellow cores aren't suitable for this application.

Thanks again Zb, What kind of electronics would have a suitable core in it, since I don't feel like ordering the cores unless I have to?
