Does anyone know were I can buy an old fashioned Neon sign transformer with an Iron core?
I am not sure if e-bay is place that might provide this.
Also ,how is it possible to make one? Does any one have instructions for it.

This is all for a Tesla coil I am buiding.

Appreciate your hints.

1. Almost any place that sells signs can sell you a transformer, but that is pretty expensive. Some sign supply houses carry transformers, but the core-and-coil types are being used less often now, so call around for Transco, Franceformer, Allanson, Jefferson, core-and-coil type transformers.

2. Ebay: Tesla coil, couldn't be simplier. check first insted of starting threads, a lot of people get annoyed when someone does this, and they are new, and they are supposed to have read the rules before signing up.

3. Transformer Design is covered in many power electronics books available on ebay and amazon and alibris, its covered in wikipedia's, and I posted the transformer article on the 4hv wiki.

More information is always out there, just have a look.
