Any TV experiments ?

While waiting for Capacitors and diodes to come from China ... Tesla stuff

I have been experimenting with an old, portable B&W TV
Things to show my Grand children .... swaping Hz and Vert. coil leads
inputing Audio to the deflectors and getting it to work with as a simple osilloscope

DOES ANY ONE KNOW OF ANY MORE DEMONSTRAIONS I COULD DO

I might get a colour set ( FREECYCLE is GREAT) and swap the colours over ???

How about using the tv's EHT supply for making
a lifter?
Some guy did this at a local Teslathon here a few years ago,
getting the 'lifter' to rise around 12 inches or so...... smile

This will probably not work, because the two coils have very different resistance and number of turns. If you do this the vertical amp. will probably blow.

Make some sparks! Keep the runs short, as this is overloading the horizontal circuit, don't be surprised if it blows...

You could turn the TV into a 'scope, using the 12F675-based circuit here. :)

Link2

Uses 27 MHz crystal, obtainable from any broken TV or video with a Dolby decoder and/or teletext, as well as some old pc motherboards.

You can use HV to directly power lifters.

To draw sparks, use a large value (10..20M) high-power resistor arrangement to prevent burnout of your horizontal deflection circuit.

Large resistor must limit current to 1-2 miliamps or so, so don't save on it.
