Finished Terry filter pics w/?'s

Here is what I have been able to come up with for a filter /safety gap set up. I used Terry's original schematic and components. I think I have managed to space things well enough to prevent arcing. I was wondering if anyone sees anything I might have missed here.

Underside of board

I do have some questions about ground. I have noticed in most of the photos I have seen, the grounds are connected to bus bars of copper. I have left this out of my filter. After soldering the components to the board I realized that if I ran a copper bar across the middle of the perf board that I might have some arcing issues. I set aside the piece of flattened copper tube that I was going to use and just connected the grounds with 14 gage HV wire to a small brass bolt on the board.

Will not having the ground connected to the greater surface area of the copper bar affect the filters performance? Will just using the wire suffice?

I'm learning all of this stuff as I go along, and I really appreciate all the help I have gotten from this forum. Thanks again for putting up with my simple questions and helping me wrap my head around all of this.

Hi,

The filter looks great!!

The #14 wire is fine for the grounds. Heavy wire is all I ever used. You could also just ground the NST separately too.

Cheers,
