After 5 months study and workand lots of advice from all over the world - thanks to all- here is my first WORKING Tesla Coil .. only one inch diameter and 3 inches high.
powered by a 12v 6A battery and one car ignition coil.
The Ignition coil out put is rectified and the 3nf Cap is in parallel and the SG in series, has heavy silver contacts - from a fork lift truck solenoid contact breaker
THANKS to every one for their help and Advice

Next is to neaten it up - as the main power supply is in a plastic tool box iT will be completely portable

I see another secondary in that second pic.

Congrats on your first coil.
I know how good it feels to get your first coil working.

i would work on your primary... so you could tune it better.. it looks like your getting the biggest spark at the end o the primary... i think you need a bigger primary (or a bigger cap)

Looks really nice well almost the same as my first sgtc. But that one was powered with a dc flyback.

Maybe wound a bigger secondary?
