Spark Gap Distance for Tesla Coil
Nyx, Sat Mar 17 2007, 06:56AMHello all, Im making my first SGTC! Im using a 9kV 30mA line transformer and im working on a static multiple spark gaps. How far should I seperate the electrodes, and how many electrodes should I use or what should my total gap distance be? Thanks!

The gap distance depends on how high you want your cap to charge before firing and multiple gaps help with quenching and cooling. I am currently building a tesla coil with a rotory gap. They have some advantages over static gaps.
