Unloading more DRSSTC stuff on EBAY

I'm unloading more excess stuff on EBAY. Just added high power DRSSTC SMT board kits and an advanced 1st generation DRSSTC controller board.

Just go to EBAY and search DRSSTC.

hmm, how does having the grid of vias between the fet and the heatsink affect performance over a minibrick fet?

I don't know if I have just been brainwashed by amazingly stringent thermal specs when messing with my lasers, but it seems like you are going to have a pretty decent temp drop across that...

obviously the minibrick IGBT will have the better thermal interface, however, the choice of these devices was a trade-off of cost / availability vs. thermal performance.

Also, for most small to mid sized DRSSTCs running at low duty cycles (<10% which is typical), heat dissipation is minimum. The minibricks are actually super overkill for this application to begin with.

Also, the thermal interface design is pretty much standard practice for surface mount power components and works quite well - both when using FR-4 with thermal vias as shown, or with IMS substrate material.

So in conclusion, its probably safe to assume you've been brainwashed. But then again, you're only 16, so you have lots to learn still . . .
