Fill your backyard with sparks

I was unhappy with my 4inch TC so I gave it an upgrade.
Do you like it wink

Holy cow... I'm guessing you've got a motor running from a 12V battery on top of the topload, spinning a wire? Hehehe

That's absolutely brilliant... I should take a multiple exposure photo of my 13.56MHz TC positioned in 712 different places around my office... but it still wouldn't compete =)

Will see what I can do, though, heheh

Yikes! What's the exposure time?

Damnit, Red Led Suntan OW, don't you ever stop doing cool stuff, that I would have done had I thought of it first!

How could you tell it was 12V? I only used 12V because a sparkthrough toasted my 9.6V pack frown
I had a 24V motor ex aircraft with solid reduction gears that fitted in the PVC extension at the top of my TC. It rotates a 2cm aluminium tube which projects about 7ft on one side and 1 foot on the other and is counterbalanced with loudspeaker magnets and some microwave ferrite magnets. Rotation is about 1 rotation in 13 secs powered by a 12 Volt SLA battery wrapped in foil after my NiCad experience.

It turned out well in the end for only a few hours work to develop it with parts on hand. I don't recall seeing anything similar anywhere else. Really its impact is primarily photographic though but the exposure for 1 RPM makes even a small coil cover a great area with sparks.
Photo shows the setup.
