Strange hair rising experience

I took out my old flyback driver and thought I could have some fun with HV again. After pulling some sparks off of the DC flyback, I could feel my hair rise even when I was holding a GND wire! I thought I had a bad GND connection somewhere, but I measured that the GND wire is conductive all the way from outlet to the wire I was holding.
I then put a small plastic bag on the table, held the GND connection in one hand, and moved the other hand close to the blastic bag. When my hand was about 2cm from the plastic bag, it started sticking to the table! Could someone try to explain what is going on??

You are the grounded armature of an air capacitor, the other plate is the layer of ions around the HV electrode. The high potential of the HV wire charge the surrounding things with opposite sign charge. You loose or gain electrons through the ground wire held in hand depending by the polarity of the HV wire from the DC flyback. If you leave the ground connection you will loose your charge very quickly. Its the same thing happened in the charger circuit of the Van De Graaf belt.
