Fiberprobe frustrations!!
Daniel Uhrenholt, Thu Dec 07 2006, 01:14PM
Hi All.
I am trying to simulate my Tesla coil in Pspice at the moment, so I can set up my 200BPS SRSG.
But i need a Fiberprobe to see if the timing is correct when I fire it up for the first time.
The sparkgap looks like this
I know that Terry made one back in 99, but it was waay before I began coiling. And I can`t find any schematics over it anywhere...
Anybody here have the schematics for the fiberprobe?
I hope i can run it for the first time, to spring next year.
Thanks in advance, Daniel

Don`t worry, Daniel.
I still have my fiber probe system, and I will be happy to help you out with the first light.
IT`s my duty, since I infected you with the Tesla Coiling Bug.
You just have to make the resistor strings, because I lost mine.
I`ve got the pcb`s you`l need for it.
Cheers, Finn Hammer

Thanks Finn,
you would save me for a lot of work, and money if you help me out with this
I will make the last measurements today on my MOTs and ballast, so hopefully i can set the spark gap up before christmas.
And thanks Terry,
I will print out the schematics and take a look at them.
I`m a gear collector, so i think i will make the probe sometime when i get the time and money.
Cheers, Daniel
