Sigma-delta fully digital musical Tesla Coil

Hi,
this is my 4th Tesla Coil, but it's the first time that I post on 4HV.
What I have built is a small musical Tesla but, if I'm not wrong, containing some innovation.
Generation of CW waveform is quite standard, with a MOSFET half bridge and doubly resonant architecture, but modulation scheme is based on a variation of sigma-delta modulation, which is carried on in software inside an ESP32 embedded module, with output on the I2S device. Sigma-delta modulation is used to drop driving cycles and hence get modulation of the output.
I have just posted an article here to describe the project: *
The ESP32 firmware doing the coding is stored here: *

Here is a video in operation:

this is amazing. first rate effort. im trying to use that same WiFi module but dont know how.

Patrick, the ESP32 is quite easy to use with Arduino IDE and libraries, particularly for Wi-Fi.
For this project I had to use the Expressif SDK, which is a bit more complex, because I needed more flexibility for I2S and because there was a demo for Bluetooth to start with.

Is it possible to use the device as a "pin-to-pin-bridge" between two uC ?

Patrick, I think this is a bit OT... there are many forums on ESP32. However, if I understand well your question, yes you can use it as a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth extender for another uC: you just need to code an intermediate protocol and drive I/O lines as you want.

i have the esp-12 / esp8266. it looks like a 28 pin dip board.

In my day, I used a Basic Stamp to control my DRSSTC...

But now, the chips are super powerful!!!

Also had to use fiber optic cables... But Bluetooth is super "noise" immune.

Born too early :D

Great work you are doing there!

You need to turn off the sound from the phone and only play the coil's music...
