Long USB Extenders (Active kind).

do any of you have experience with long USB cables ?

i dont want to depend on normal 16 ft (5m) passive cables that seems long even though they make them, i still need to plug in the original device cord of 3 more feet (1m). so I bought both (the active repeater one). im just wondering if anyone has had issues or knows of any quirks that pop up.

I've used them and not had any issues

I've also used them. The cable with integrated hubs worked fine for me. I bought an extender consisting of two ends that the user was meant to plug an RJ45 cable into (up to 100ft?) and it was DOA.. though I suppose that is just rotten luck. My communication is slow, USB 2.0, 9.6kbaud.

Unless you're willing to pay a premium, the USB over ethernet adapters are typically limited to USB 1.1 speeds so will rarely work with anything nowadays.

I spotted this when I was going to use cheap webcams as security cameras, ended up buying ethernet cameras instead.
