For a half bridge i'm building i would like to lay the 1:1:1 GDT flat (due to space issue) on the PCB and wind it like in this sketch:

Is there a problem with this way of winding the GDT?

Not that I can see, but is it normal to drive both switches in a half bridge from the same GDT?

No, not unless you want a fixed 50% duty cycle.
If it was half a full bridge it would be alright, because you could vary the phase angle between the legs, as in a Phase Shifted Full Bridge.
