Wire gauge/tuning question

For my first "larger" SGTC, I'm almost ready to give it a light, but the wire I wound the secondary with, I'm not really sure of its gauge but it looks 26-ish. I did the calculations with tesla CAD and it ranges from the 8-9th Turn on the Primary to the 9-10th turn (for 25 -27 gauge). If I apply power to it, and its out of tune by a few turns, Could I damage my mmc? (which is what I'm most worried about). Other wise I want to get it close and trial by error tune it. Thanks

You wont hurt anything, but your MMC might start to warm up a bit. Youll need to use trial and error to tune the coil anyways, those simulators are a good gauge for where to start tuning from, but it takes a little time to get it perfect on the coil itself.
