New CNC project: 1um encoders, 0.5um capable servos (exluding mechanics)

Linas, Tue Dec 13 2016, 06:36AM

Hello, i am starting new project. This will be CNC mill. Basic idea is to make as good CNC as i can, and use it to make my life better :)

In this video i explain my idea for CNC, somehow i just over complicating everything i do...

If you want to support this project for FREE, just share this video in your favorite social media, 1-10M views should generate more than enough revenue to not cut corners in this project. Many thanks: Link2

if were going to do that it seems we should be able to ask for parts occasionally.

In theory yes, if your impact was sufficient enough.

I have used HeeksCAD for simple (2.5D) parts Link2
As far as I know it is the most capable FOSS cam tool, but if you want the functionality of modern cam software (like toolpath optimization, 3D and 4/5 axis support...) you will be stuck using the free/trial versions of a commercial piece of software. I believe that fusion360 is supposed to be relatively well featured, or if you already have solidworks I think HSMWorks is free for educational use.

Good luck with your CNC project. Will be interesting to see if you can keep those kind of tolerances on the workpiece!

i am planning on solidworks with HSMCam so far.
