Bodged to the max

This is an Ipad Mini, worth saving (just) but has a bad battery apparently as it keeps beeping and won't charge.
I've hooked it up to an external charger and so far so good, did a full cycle to 0 (3.2V) and recharge
with low current 150mAh single chip charger and so far it seems to be working.
It wasn't even powering a RaspPi before, now it runs for about an hour with two external CDROMs hooked up and then I left it charging again.

any ideas?
