hi coilers this is another of my project small DRSSTC I use a full-bridge 50B60 igbt I do not have OCD, PREDICTOR primary current over 300Ð when the arc may up to 400A in this coil did not explode none igbt very often strike in the primary winding constantly exploding capacitors in MMC this coil is so loud that the neighbors killing

I apologize for the 2 post, could not upload photos

You never seize to amaze me with those crude coils that pump out gigantic violent and scary arcs in only a way a Russian can do it.
Please give more details about your resonant frequencies, MMC capacitance etc.

I could'nt agree more with Mads, your projects just... are amazing compared to how 'retro' they look xD

I saw this coil pop up on YouTube and it simply amazed me. You've outdone yourself again, Zil! Such raw power in that arc!
Re: Little DRSSTC from zilipoper ;D zilipoper, Fri Jan 17 2014, 08:39PM
thank you it was still not at maximum power it will soon be even angrier and more powerful crazier

Wow, awesome! You developed the single transistor tesla coil into a full bridge DRSSTC. How does it behave at higher pulse rate? Or hard arcing at earth?

it is quite normal for the coil but mains wiring in the house begins to melt
Re: Little DRSSTC from zilipoper ;D Uspring, Sat Jan 18 2014, 01:08PM
That's an interesting design. You seem to have a huge primary inductance of about 110uH. This way you can store a lot of energy in the primary tank until it is dumped into the secondary when it is pulled into tune. This sudden discharge probably causes a lot of voltage in the secondary, so that flashovers become likely. I guess you use long bursts (500us?) due to the slow current rampup.
Can you post a picture of your primary? Why do you have a toroid in the middle of the secondary?

it's just a paper box
Re: Little DRSSTC from zilipoper ;D Thomas W, Sat Jan 18 2014, 08:28PM
Cool, do you think you will show some pictures off the rest of the coil? id love to see pictures of circuitry and such, its interesting to see how other people lay stuff out :)

That's pretty impressive output for your coil, but it looks like it's running really big pulse-widths as Uspring pointed out. Are you running on the order of several ms or so? How does that do for the reliability? It also looks like you got the coil running in sync with mains so that's kinda like a VTTC on stacatto, i.e. like a simple QCW with the high impedance primary. Good job with the 50b60s! The Warp2 series seems to be the very best 247 IGBTs on the market right now.

WHAT THE? Sounds like a proper MMC will make the coil A+ Screw the UD! Schematics plox?
Re: Little DRSSTC from zilipoper ;D zilipoper, Sun Jan 19 2014, 12:38PM
coil has a lot of primary turns, and a small capacitance MMC so MAX circuit current is limited large pulse duration, does not destroy the coil a standard scheme DRSSTС only without OСD and PREDICTOR

still did not explode coil
Re: Little DRSSTC from zilipoper ;D Finn Hammer, Sat Feb 15 2014, 08:21PM
Denis,
The coil seems indestructible, but I am worried about the house.....
Interesting effect on picture 2, I am guessing molten iron flying off spinner, with 2 very close hits adjacent to (you?) sitting in bed.
Cheers, Finn Hammer
