Adding GIFs

Would it be possible to fix the forum software so that when you upload a .gif file it not only shows the scaled down version, but the pic is a link to the fullsized one; as happens with a .jpg file?

ie instead of

[img:width=250]image location[/img]

have

[link=image location][img:width=250]image location[/img][/link]
