Blown hybrid in Samsung TV :(

Conundrum, Mon Aug 14 2006, 07:01PM

Hi all.
Any ideas where I might get one of these? Its a SEC 3S0680R 5 pin "hybrid" regulator chip.

From a Samsung TV, when I replaced the fuse after removing the degaussing posistor that appeared to be the cause, it went BOOM.

Thanks, -A

It is not a hibrid; it's Fairchild power switch (®)

Sadly they are gone obsolete..

um, chips with a high power fet and some low power circuitry are generally considered hybrids wink

In any case, couldn't you just bypass the whole power supply and hack in a new one?

I am guessing that if it blew there is something else that is shorted... Fets don't explode for no reason (well, in commercial equipment at least)

Yeah. It looks like other parts have blown, but I am fairly attached to this TV (it was only bought at the end of '99) and otherwise worked fine.

Any ideas? i seem to recall that there are companies who supply out of date or obsolete semis.
